Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 24, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Forge platform ("Platform"), including our website, mobile applications, APIs, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Services.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Services. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the Services under any circumstances.
Binding Agreement:These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Forge Technologies, Inc. ("Forge," "we," "us," or "our"). Your continued use of the Services after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. What Forge Is
Forge is a distributed manufacturing platform that connects three sides of a marketplace:
- Customers — individuals and businesses who order custom 3D-printed objects through natural language prompts, file uploads, or API integrations.
- Makers — independent contractors who own and operate 3D printers, fulfilling orders routed to them by the Platform.
- Designers — creators who upload original 3D model files (STLs) to the Forge catalog, earning royalties when their designs are printed and sold.
Forge itself does not manufacture, ship, or physically handle any products. Forge provides the technology platform, AI design tools, order routing, payment processing, and dispute resolution infrastructure. All physical production and shipping is performed by independent Makers.
3. Customer Terms
Your Promises
As a Customer, you represent and warrant that:
- All information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You will not use the Services to order any prohibited items (see Section 10).
- You have the legal right to place orders and make payments through the Platform.
- You will inspect delivered items promptly and report any issues within 14 days of delivery.
Limitations
3D-printed items are produced by independent Makers using consumer and prosumer-grade equipment. You acknowledge that:
- Minor variations in color, texture, layer lines, and dimensions are inherent to the manufacturing process and do not constitute defects.
- AI-generated designs are produced algorithmically and may not match your expectations exactly.
- Estimated delivery times are approximations and not guarantees.
- Items are not suitable for load-bearing, medical, food-contact, or safety-critical applications unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Refund Policy
Forge offers refunds under the following circumstances:
- Defective items: Full refund or reprint if the item has manufacturing defects that substantially deviate from the order specifications.
- Non-delivery: Full refund if the item is not delivered within 30 days of the estimated delivery date.
- Significant deviation: Full refund or reprint if the delivered item materially differs from what was ordered.
- No refunds for buyer's remorse, minor cosmetic variations inherent to 3D printing, or items that match the provided specifications.
Delivery
Delivery timelines are estimates provided by the assigned Maker. Forge does not guarantee delivery dates. Risk of loss passes to the Customer upon handoff to the shipping carrier. Forge will assist with shipping claims but is not liable for carrier delays, loss, or damage.
4. Intellectual Property and Ownership
Shared Model
Forge operates under a shared intellectual property model:
- Customer-uploaded files: You retain all rights to files you upload. By uploading, you grant Forge a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and modify the file solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
- Designer catalog files: Designers retain ownership of their original works. See Section 6 for Designer-specific terms.
- AI-generated designs: Designs created by Forge's AI tools are owned by Forge. Customers receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, display, and reproduce the physical output of AI-generated designs for personal or commercial use.
Patent
The Forge platform, including its AI design pipeline, order routing algorithms, distributed manufacturing network, and associated technologies, may be covered by one or more pending or issued patents. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to Forge's patents, trade secrets, or proprietary technology.
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by Forge's AI systems (including but not limited to 3D models, images, descriptions, and design suggestions) is produced algorithmically. Forge does not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from third-party intellectual property claims. You assume all risk associated with the use of AI-generated content.
5. Maker Terms Summary
Makers operate as independent contractors under a separate Maker Agreement. By enrolling as a Maker, you agree to the full Maker Agreement, which governs compensation, quality standards, equipment requirements, dispute resolution, and termination. Key points include:
- Makers receive 70% of the order price for fulfilled orders.
- Makers must maintain a minimum quality rating of 4.0 out of 5.0.
- Makers are responsible for their own equipment, materials, taxes, and insurance.
- Makers may be terminated for quality issues, policy violations, or ethics breaches.
The full Maker Agreement is available at forge3d.com/legal/makers and is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
6. Designer Terms
STL Submissions
Designers may upload 3D model files (STL, OBJ, 3MF, or other supported formats) to the Forge catalog. By uploading a file, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the original creator of the design or have all necessary rights and licenses to distribute it.
- The design does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- The design does not contain any prohibited content (see Section 10).
- The design is printable and structurally sound for standard FDM/FFF printing processes.
Royalties
Designers earn a royalty for each sale of their design through the Platform. The current royalty rate is 10% of the customer-facing sale price, paid after the order is fulfilled and the refund window has closed. Forge reserves the right to adjust royalty rates with 30 days' notice.
Representations
You represent and warrant that your submissions are original works and do not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights. You agree to indemnify Forge against any claims arising from your submissions.
DMCA
Forge complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe a design infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA Policy at forge3d.com/legal/dmca. Designers who receive repeated valid takedown notices may have their accounts permanently terminated.
7. Forgebot Terms
Automated Service
Forgebot is Forge's automated AI agent that assists customers with design, ordering, and support through natural language conversation. Forgebot may:
- Generate 3D designs based on text prompts.
- Provide pricing estimates and delivery timelines.
- Process orders and payments on your behalf.

Orders placed through Forgebot are binding. When you confirm an order through Forgebot, you are authorizing Forge to charge your payment method and route the order for fulfillment. Review all order details carefully before confirming.
Ethics Filter
Forgebot includes built-in content filtering that prevents the generation of prohibited content. Attempts to circumvent, jailbreak, or manipulate Forgebot's safety filters are a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.
8. API and Agentic Terms
API Access
Forge provides API access for programmatic integration with the Platform. API access is subject to rate limits, usage quotas, and additional terms as specified in the API documentation. Forge reserves the right to modify, throttle, or revoke API access at any time.
Key Holder Responsibility
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys. All actions performed using your API keys are attributed to your account, regardless of who initiated them. You must:
- Keep API keys confidential and never share them publicly.
- Rotate keys immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Implement reasonable security measures to protect your keys.
- Accept full responsibility for all orders, charges, and actions performed through your API keys, including actions by AI agents or automated systems using your keys.
9. Adult Content
Permitted With Age Certification
Forge permits certain adult content for users who are 18 years of age or older and have completed age verification. Permitted adult content includes:
- Artistic nudity and figurines.
- Adult novelty items.
- Mature artistic expressions.
Prohibited Adult Content
The following adult content is absolutely prohibited regardless of age verification:
- Any content depicting minors in sexual or suggestive contexts.
- Non-consensual or violence-related sexual content.
- Content that violates applicable obscenity laws.
Violations of this section will result in immediate and permanent account termination, and may be reported to law enforcement.
10. Prohibited Content
Forge maintains a comprehensive Prohibited Items Policy that governs what may and may not be produced through the Platform. The full policy is available at forge3d.com/legal/prohibited and is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
All users — Customers, Makers, Designers, and API consumers — are bound by the Prohibited Items Policy. Violations may result in order cancellation, account suspension or termination, forfeiture of pending payouts, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
11. Payment Terms
Stripe
All payments on the Platform are processed through Stripe, Inc. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Forge does not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment information on its servers.
Pricing
Prices are displayed at the time of order and include the cost of materials, printing, and Maker compensation. Shipping costs are calculated separately and displayed before order confirmation. All prices are in US dollars unless otherwise specified.
Maker Payouts
Makers receive 70% of the order price. Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect and are initiated after the order is confirmed delivered and the 14-day refund window has closed. Forge is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe or the Maker's banking institution.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times vary by payment provider. In the event of a refund, the Maker payout for that order will be deducted or reversed. See Section 3 for refund eligibility.
Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable taxes on your purchases. Forge collects and remits sales tax where required by law. Makers are responsible for their own income tax obligations as independent contractors.
12. Limitation of Liability
Platform Only
Forge operates as a technology platform only. Forge does not manufacture, inspect, ship, or physically handle any products. Forge is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or fitness for any particular purpose of items produced by Makers.
No Liability For
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Forge shall not be liable for:
- Personal injury, property damage, or any other harm resulting from the use of items ordered through the Platform.
- Defects in items produced by independent Makers.
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated designs or content.
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the Services.
- Unauthorized access to your account or data.
- Service interruptions, downtime, or technical failures.

Consequential Damages
In no event shall Forge be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, regardless of whether Forge has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
13. Dispute Resolution
Contact
If you have a dispute, please contact us first at legal@forge3d.com or through the Platform's support channels.
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution process, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting Forge. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receiving your notice.
AI-Assisted Dispute Resolution
Forge offers AI-assisted dispute resolution through our support chat. Our AI system can review order details, evaluate claims, and propose fair resolutions. You may opt out of AI-assisted resolution at any time and request human review.
Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in Nashville, Tennessee, or at a location mutually agreed upon by the parties.
Class Action Waiver
You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Forge.
Small Claims
Notwithstanding the arbitration provision above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdictional limits.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.
15. Changes to Terms
Notice
Forge may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we will also notify you by email or through an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Ethics Provisions Are Permanent
The ethics-related provisions of these Terms — including prohibitions on weapons, content involving minors, and other absolute prohibitions — are permanent and may not be weakened or removed through amendments. Any purported amendment that weakens these protections shall be void and unenforceable.
Acceptance
Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Services.
16. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Maker Agreement (if applicable), and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Forge regarding the Services.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Waiver
The failure of Forge to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Forge.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without Forge's prior written consent. Forge may assign these Terms without restriction.
